What is Coaching?

Coaches are trained professionals who guide individuals and business into becoming  “extra-ordinary”.  How?  By recognizing blocks and obstacles and educating how to remove them to reach their vision and goals.

Professional coaching sessions are generally on a weekly basis.  The frequency and length of sessions are customized to the needs of the individual, organization, or team.  All sessions are strictly confidential and are scheduled in advance.  Normally minimum agreements last three months.

Individual & Personal Coaching

We help individuals who have blocks and are not reaching their absolute best.  We partner with individuals in increasing their motivation, focus, and effectiveness.  Coaching is a non-threatening way to partner with individuals to overcome blocks, maximize their strengths, and learn skills to make their challenges into success stories.  We assist by:

1.      Decreasing procrastination

2.      Building superior interpersonal skills

3.      Growing your personal and leadership abilities

4.      Dealing with inappropriate emotions

5.      Maximizing time effectiveness

6.      Building Self-Confidence

7.      Dealing effectively with changes and transitions

8.      New ways to overcome blocks

How coaching differs from consulting, therapy or a best friend?

Therapy. A coach does not work with any form of mental illness or dwell on past issues. However, we do recognize your blocks and quickly give you methods to overcome them maintaining a forward motion that will keep you on your journey to what you really want.

Consulting. A coach works with common life challenges (fears, skills, communication, etc). A coach is an active partner who guides your brainstorming, problem-solving, and move forward while improving your life. A coach works with people who want to strive towards excellence, not perfection, rather than fixing something temporarily. A coach stays with you to guide implementing the new skills, changes and goals to make sure they really happen. A coach assists you develop steps to reach the goals.

Best Friend. A best friend is wonderful to have, however, is not a trained professional who you will trust to advise you on the most important aspects of your life and/or business. We recommend you have both.

What you should expect from your coach:

  • Gives you honest feedback and an objective edge.

  • Provides a personal non-judgmental sounding board with fresh perspectives and reframing suggestions.

  • Encourages ideas on productive change, life style improvement, and belief system refinement.

  • Guides in the discovery of personal ability, vision, and values through personal transformation, learning and breakthrough assignments.

  • Aids in pattern-breaking and unleashing past behaviors that have held you back from achieving your life and career goals.

  • Encourages and presents diverse views and perspectives.

  • Suspends opinions and assumptions to build a shared mind.

  • Plays with different views and perspectives for you to contemplate.

  • Assists in creating something new that never existed before.

  • Promotes action towards reaching your goals.

  • Always be there to assist in implementing transformational change.

  • Stretches your targets that will unleash your aspirations.

  • Reveals assumptions, blocks, and behaviors that produce negative results.

Can I hire a coach just for a short-term, special project?

Yes. Some clients have hired us to partner them to accomplish specific goals or projects. Usually the client keeps working with us as they discover the amazing results we provide.

Why does coaching work?

Coaching works for several reasons:

1. Synergy between the coach and client creates momentum.

2. Better goals are set – ones that naturally push and pull the client towards their goals.

3. The client develops new skills that translate into more success.

Does the coach work on personal goals or business/professional goals?

Both, actually. One is the foundation for the other and is a major part of the whole individual. With the line between personal and business life blurring, coaches are professionally trained to work with all aspects of your life.

What about people who feel they are already doing great in their lives? Why would they need a coach?

They might not need a coach. However, they might ask themselves the following questions to make sure:

  • Are they doing what they most enjoy?

  • Are they tolerating anything?

  • How much stress is there?

  • Are they going to be financially independent within the next 15 years?

  • Do they have what they most want?

We have discovered that, often, people stop expecting more out of their lives, they quit or just plain "give up", because their success rate has been low or none in the past. A coach will partner with you to discover new ways to change this process.

Where does the coach focus with an average client?

A coach focuses where you need them most. However, we usually integrate some basics:

  • Ways to strengthen your Personal Foundation.

  • Guide you in beefing up your Reserve.

  • Partner in setting goals and objectives based on your Personal Values and Path.

We have found that by including these basics into our goals and objectives, we encounter fewer blocks and our success rate is faster and higher. Our clients tell us they like this approach.

Why has coaching become so popular?

Coaching has been around for many years. However, only the wealthy have been able to afford coaches. Today, there are certificate and educational programs available to help train more professionals into this field. Thus, as supply and demand dictates in our society, the more coaches in the profession the further down the economic scale appears.

Coaching is popular for several reasons:

1. Most people are tired of doing what they "should" be doing and are ready to do something special and meaningful with the rest of their lives. Problem is, people are to close to themselves and usually can’t see it, or if they can, they can’t see a way to re-orient their life around it or get out of their own way. A coach can partner with you to do both.

2. People are realizing how simple it can be to accomplish something that several years ago might have felt out of reach or a pipe dream. A coach is not a miracle worker (well, they are, sometimes) but a coach does have a large tool kit to guide the Big Idea become Reality.

3. Spirituality. If you’ve tracked the phenomenal success of James Redfield’s Celestine Prophecy on the NY Times best-seller list during 1994, you get a sense of just how many people are willing to look at, and consider, the notion of spirituality. Many coaches are spiritually based – even the ones who coach at IBM and AT&T. America is getting more spiritual quickly. (Our working definition of spirituality? How connected you are with yourself and others.) A coach encourages their clients to tune in to themselves and others.
